Dragons Blood resin | aromaG's Botanica
Dragon’s blood resin is a powerful, deep-red resin used in magical practices for protection, banishing negativity, and increasing the potency of spells. Associated with the element of fire and Mars, this resin can be burned on charcoal, used in mojo bags, or made into oil/ink to boost spells relating to power, love, and purification.
Common Magical Uses & Correspondences:
  • Protection & Banishing: Known to create strong boundaries, it is used to cleanse spaces and banish negative energies or spirits.
  • Amplification: It is often added to other herb blends to significantly increase the power and intensity of a spell.
  • Love & Power: Often used in spells to gain personal power, strengthen courage, or in love magic to increase desire.
  • Ritual Components: Used in incense, or dissolved in oil/alcohol to create potent protective ink for drawing sigils and seals on parchment.
  • Symbolism: Associated with fire, sun, and overcoming obstacles.

Since ancient times the clean, fresh, balsamic fragrance of Frankincense has been utilized to as perfume–the very word perfume derives from the Latin 'par fumer'–through the (incense) smoke, a direct reference as to the origin of the practise of perfuming. Clothes were fumigated, not only to give them a pleasant smell, but also to cleanse them. Perfuming is a cleansing practice. In Dhofar not only clothes were perfumed, but other articles such as water jugs were also cleansed with smoke to kill bacteria and energetically purify the vessel of life-giving water, just as smudging is practiced today as a method of cleansing ritual objects and purifying the aura of participants as vessels of the divine spirit."

In some traditions of Hoodoo and rootwork, frankincense is used to anoint petitions, and is said to give the other magical herbs in the working a boost.

*A cautionary note regarding the use of essential oils: frankincense oils can sometimes cause a reaction in people with sensitive skin and should only be used very sparingly, or diluted with a base oil before using.

CEDAR RESIN

Cedar is commonly used in spiritual smudging and cleansing rituals. Its energy repels negativity and invites peace, clarity, and spiritual alignment. Sacredness and Divine Connection: Cedar trees are considered sacred in many traditions, often planted near temples or used in the construction of holy spaces.
